Katie Saj

Katie Saj has worked as a high school English teacher for 17 years at an Indigenous high school for students in the Treaty 5 and Treaty 9 areas of Northern Ontario, Canada.

With a Reading Specialist and additional qualifications in Alternative and Special Education she has become an expert at interpreting the curriculum to make it meaningful and memorable for students by taking a holistic approach to teaching and believing that every student can achieve success.

In addition to teaching, Katie has worked as a school Literacy Lead, educational consultant and curriculum writer. She is the founder of Mochas and Markbooks creating Secondary ELA educational resources, as well as Mila Belle Creative Co. designing fonts, clipart and classroom templates.
